Laid down 18 November 1840 at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands by C.J. Glavimans, launched 24 May 1842, commissioned 1 October 1842, fitting out with engines at Nederlandsche Stoomboot Mij., Fijenoord completed March 1843, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 21-27 February 1844, 8-26 June 1844 and 20-28 December 1852, transferred to the Indies Military Navy 1867, stricken 1871, sold 1872, served in the Dutch East Indies, building costs ƒ 508.960,00, displacement 546-1.367 (?) ton, dimensions 52 (waterline) x 10 (inner hull) x 4,4 (fore)-4,8 (aft)x 6,03 (hold) metres, 220 hp, coal bunker capacity 18 days, three masts, one funnel, bark rigged, a crew numbering 100 men and an armament of 8 guns. The newspaper Java-bode dated 5 June 1871 published an item dated Pasoerean, Dutch East Indies 30May reporting that the condemned Bromo was lying near the reef off Zwaantjesdroogte (Karang ‘s Koko) where a lighthouse was being built and she was used as accommodation for the labourers. The edition dated 30 March 1872 reported the intended auction of her with boilers and engines first half of April at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies. The Bataviaasch handelsblad dated 18 April reported that she was sold on 13 April for ƒ 17.200 to Mr. Nicolai.
